Lionel Belmore (12 May 1867 – 30 January 1953) was an English character actor who appeared in over 200 films throughout his career, primarily in the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s. He is perhaps best known for his roles in classic Hollywood productions such as Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and Rebecca. He often played the supporting character or the character of authority, such as butlers, doctors, and judges. In addition to his film work, he was also a successful stage actor and appeared in several West End productions. He passed away in 1953 at the age of 85.
