The Creature from the Black Lagoon is a series of horror films that began with the 1954 film of the same name, and has since spawned two sequels, as well as various adaptations and remakes. The films center around a prehistoric humanoid creature that lives in the Amazon River and terrorizes humans who venture into its territory. The creature’s iconic design, with its amphibious features and webbed hands, has become a staple of monster movie iconography.
