Doris Lloyd (3 July 1896 – 21 May 1968) was an English actress who appeared in over 150 films throughout her career, primarily in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. She is perhaps best known for her roles in classic Hollywood productions such as The Time Machine, The Wizard of Oz, and The Sound of Music. She often played the supporting character or the character of authority, such as nurses, governesses, and maids. In addition to her film work, she was also a successful stage actress and appeared in several West End productions. She retired from acting in the mid-1960s and passed away in 1968 at the age of 71.
