Susanna Foster (6 December 1924 – 17 January 2009) was an American actress and singer who appeared in over 20 films throughout her career, primarily in the 1940s and 1950s. She is perhaps best known for her roles in classic Hollywood productions such as The Phantom of the Opera and It Happened in Brooklyn. She often played the leading lady or the romantic interest of the main character. In addition to her film work, she was also a successful singer and appeared in several musicals. She retired from acting in the mid-1950s and later worked as a vocal coach. She passed away in 2009 at the age of 84.
