Mary Philbin (16 July 1902 – 7 May 1993) was an American actress who appeared in over 50 films throughout her career, primarily in the 1920s and 1930s. She is perhaps best known for her role as Christine Daaé in the 1925 silent film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera opposite Lon Chaney. She also appeared in several other films, including The Man Who Laughs and Seven Footprints to Satan. After her acting career, she retired from the film industry and worked as a real estate agent.
