Charles Wagenheim (21 February 1896 – 6 March 1979) was an American actor who appeared in over 200 films throughout his career, primarily in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He is perhaps best known for his roles in classic Hollywood productions such as High Sierra, The Postman Always Rings Twice, and The Asphalt Jungle. He often played the supporting character or the character of authority, such as police officers, judges, and detectives. In addition to his film work, he was also a successful stage actor and appeared in several Broadway productions. He passed away in 1979 at the age of 83.
