Robert Florey (14 September 1900 – 16 May 1979) was a French-American film director and screenwriter who worked in Hollywood during the 1920s through the 1940s. He is best known for his work in classic Hollywood productions, particularly in the horror and suspense genres. He directed several films, including Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Beast with Five Fingers, and The Cocoanuts (with the Marx Brothers). He was also a successful television director and worked on several popular shows, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. He was a close friend of the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, and the two collaborated on several film projects.
